On Nov. 22, 1968, an episode of “Star Trek” titled “Plato’s Stepchildren” broadcast the first interracial kiss on American television. This TV moment assisted in breaking down color barriers. If they were to do a tribute and changed the ethnicity of either of them. That decision would in my opinion, down play the importance of the bold statement.
