prison is not meant to be nice
I would have a way to rehabilitate non violent criminals who stay for a short time. Then a totally different rehab for people who have been in prison for 10 years+ they need to be helped going back out and after being in prison the outside can be scary and most long term people go right back because they feel bad when they get out and go right back in. Because that is all they know.
