The Foreign Affairs Ministry is awaiting a further response from the Dominican government in relation to February’s deportation of dancehall artiste Tommy Lee and three other men.
In May, the Jamaican Government wrote to Dominican authorities about the circumstances that led to the deportations.
Dominica has acknowledged receiving the letter but is yet to respond to the concerns raised.
Tommy Lee, whose given name is Leroy Russell, and three other men – Oralie Russell, Junior Fraser and Mario Wallace – are alleging that they were denied entry to Dominica on February 23.
They claim that they were held in inhumane conditions and later forced to leave without due process.
Tommy Lee had vowed to file a claim in the Caribbean Court of Justice, if Dominica did not start compensation negotiations by June 8 in relation to his deportation.
